We are very lucky here in the Black Country – it has been a bit windy, but nothing exceptional. In order to try to capture the effect of the wind I had to use a 4 second exposure, and as you can see there is not much movement – even though it was a hand-held shot!

My Olympus EM-1ii does not have the ND effects of later models, so I resorted to using an iPhone app on my elderly iPhone 6 (I can’t find anything equivalent for the more recent Samsung).

Despite the lack of spectacular storms, it has been an exciting day, as a female blackcap visited the peanut feeder in the morning – it must be a couple of years since I’ve had one in the garden, and they have only ever been rare visitors.

To those who have had a bad time with Dudley and Eunice, I send my sympathy.

About Mike Hessey

I'm a BOF (Boring Old Fellow) and MOS (Miserable Old Soul) whose main interests are photography, cycling, walking and computers. Regrettably recent problems with my legs, back and heart have reduced the cycling and walking.
